Except where stated, the following series of lectures were organised by the Centre for Lebanese Studies and held at the Middle East Centre, St Antony's College, Oxford

Prof Theodor Hanf, Co-existence in War: The Resilience of Conviviality in

Mr Rene Laremont, The Lebanese Community in the Ivory Coast: The Dynamics
of Economic Power without Political Participation (1991). This lecture was
organised jointly with the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies and held at the
Centre for Islamic Studies.
Dr Brian McGuire, Problems facing Lebanese and Palestinians in Denmark (1991).
This lecture was organised jointly with the Refugee Studies Programme and held
at Queen Elizabeth House.
Dr Kari Karame, Women in War (1989). This lecture was organised in co-operation
with the Centre for Cross-Cultural Research on Women and held at Queen Elizabeth
House.
Dr Clovis Macsoud, Lebanon in Search of its Destiny (1989). This lecture
was held in co-operation with the Centre for Near and Middle Eastern Studies
and held at the School of Oriental and African Studies.
Dr Mona Macksoud, Children in War. This lecture was organised jointly
with the Refugee Studies Programme and held at Queen Elizabeth House.
The Challenges of Lebanon: the Future Middle East
At the 1997 British Society for Middle East Studies (BRISMES) International Conference on Middle Eastern Studies, the Centre held a seminar on "The Challenges of Lebanon: the Future Middle East". Chaired by Dr Barbara Roberson, the following presentations were given:

Palestinian-Lebanese Relations
In March, 1991 the Centre for Lebanese Studies and the Oxford Arab Committee jointly organised a one-day informal seminar at St Antony's College, Oxford. The meeting grouped a small number of Palestinians and Lebanese to discuss the future of Palestinian-Lebanese relations.
The Dynamics of US Policy in Lebanon, 1940-50
In 1990 the Centre organised a workshop on the 1958 crisis in Lebanon. The workshop, held at the Middle East Centre was chaired by Dr Roger Owen. Dr Irene Gendzier and Mr Michel van Leuuw gave presentations and Dr Carolyn Gates was the discussant.
The Lebanese Forum
In 1988-89 the Centre organised a series of meetings to discuss the
Ta'if Agreement. The meetings, subsequently called the Lebanese Forum, were
held on Saturday and consisted of a one day round-table discussion.
Contemporary Lebanon
This series of seminars was held jointly with the Middle East Centre, St Antony's College during Hilary Term, 1988. The following presentations were given:
